JUMP TO RECIPE
Once upon a time, many years ago, I was a Pampered Chef consultant. In fact, I found out I was having my 4th (and last) child shortly after I began my PC career. She is now 26 years old! My years with PC were very fulfilling. PC allowed me to stay home with our 4 children while earning extra cash for our family. The bonus was that I was doing something that I love: cooking!
In the years I was with PC, I picked up several recipes that are now staples for my family. One of them is this recipe for pizza crust. It is super simple and tastes great! You can mix in spices to add flavor. It works well as a deep dish crust or as two thin crusts. You can even make pizzas ahead of time and freeze the uncooked pizzas to cook later.
The dough is great as-is; it is even better with mix-ins. My favorite is a little garlic and Italian seasoning. I have even brushed the edges with melted butter and sprinkled with garlic powder. This dough also tastes great as a sweet dough for a dessert pizza.

Pizza Crust
The best pizza crust you can make at home from scratch!
Ingredients
- 1 cup water, warmed to 90-110 degrees F
- 1 package yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 Tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cups flour
Directions
- In a medium bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let set at least 5 minutes and yeast begins to bubble and grow.
- To the activated yeast, add the flour, salt, and olive oil. Add any spice mix-in’s now as well.
- Mix well, until dough cleans side of bowl.
- Knead dough until smooth and elastic.
- Place kneaded dough in a lightly greased bowl, turning once to coat with oil
- Cover and let set in a warm place for about an hour, or until dough is double in size.
- Punch dough down. Turn out and if making a deep dish crust, roll out to the size you want. If making two thin crusts, divide dough into two equal portions and roll out.
- Top with your favorite toppings and bake at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
Time Saver Tip:
When mixing the flour into the dough, you can do so by hand, or you can place in an electric mixer equipped with a dough hook. You can use this to knead the dough as well.
