Toasted Salted Pecans

In Fayetteville, there is a place called Shakes Frozen Custard. My favorite item there is the Big Bopper. It is creamy frozen custard topped with thick caramel, thick fudge, and toasted, salted pecans, then topped with maraschino cherries! Of course, I am pretty sure you can gain a few pounds just looking at a Big Bopper. I made it my mission to replicate the toppings; I’ve gotten pretty close if I say so myself!

How to Use Toasted Salted Pecans

  • on sundaes
  • in cakes
  • in icings and on cakes
  • as a cheesecake topping
  • chop them and add to chicken salad
  • salad topping
  • as a snack

These pecans will store for several weeks in an airtight container. I like to store them in mason jars and vacuum seal them. Link to the jar sealer is on my favorite things page HERE.
